Just bought this phone used from someone locally…was told when I bought it that I needed to put my sim card in and connect it to the PC to be able to make calls…I bought it anyways.

I get it home and do everything to activate the sim in it and I can’t hear people when they call and they can’t hear me either unless it is on speaker.

I have tried pushing the power and home buttons for 8 secs to reset it and nothing happened, the mute switch is not on. I am currently in the process of restoring it. I don’t know if this will work but does anyone have any other suggestions?
