VoiceTalk Menu

Voice Talk is one of the most underrated features of the Galaxy SII and the Galaxy Note.

It comes as a default application with Galaxy SII and Note devices. You can access the application on your Main Menu, then select Voice Talk. Once you are inside the VoiceTalk menu, you can start the commands by double tapping on top of the device (needs activation) or by saying to your phone “Hi Galaxy” and it will then ask “What would you like to do?”
The voice sensor is pretty intuitive and accurate in picking up most English words. In some instances you might have to repeat the instruction as the devices inbuilt voice’s accent is slightly Americanised. Some sentences are misconstrued because of the South African accent.

For those who spend a lot of time driving, Voice Talk is super useful and safe, you need not take your hands off the steering wheel and your eyes off of the road. You merely give your Galaxy device and instruction to “call” or “message” and it will dial the number and write your text message for you. When you switch your device to driving mode on it will read alerts and incoming communication to you out loud.

You can also find directions and navigate to your location using Voice Talk. As with the social network platform, you will need to initially link your Google Maps account (or whichever mobile navigation application you use) with Voice Talk. Thereafter you merely dictate the address or destination to which you are going.

Another great feature is being able to update social networks with Voice Talk. You will need to initially link your respective social accounts to the voice talk app, thereafter it merely asks you which social platform you would like to update.

To activate voice talk:
- Double press on the home key (The centre button on your device)
- When it sits in your car cradle, it automatically goes to VoiceTalk
- Main Menu, tap on Voice Talk
- In the VoiceTalk menu, you can start a command by double tapping on top of the device (needs activation) or by saying to your phone “Hi Galaxy”

Below is a list of what you can do with your Galaxy SII’s, and Note’s, Voice Talk.
