If you have not gotten one yet, best $50.00 I have ever spent. Went from 1 maybe 2 bars in living room or whole house for that matter to 5 bars. Well worth the $20.00 a month for unlimited or even if I was letting come out of minutes well worth it.
In all the areas I go to i would always get 4 to 5 bars after 4.1 i get 1 to 2 if the stars are in allignment i get 3 and it isnt a visual thing I did a speedtest the speeds are in the low 100 KBits and the upload fails. 2 coworders have 3gs’s with iOS4 not 4.1 and they have full 5bars next to my 1bar.
so i guess i updated my phone to 4.0.1. Is there a way to go back to 4.0 ? because once i updated it i been going to 3-5 bars just sitting in one spot.
i havnt had a problem at all with the i phone until this weekend, its been dropping calls and loosing service like crazy everywere i go, i tryed resetting network settings, and even a restore and it still does it, ill have 5 bars then a dropped call with zero bars, i have a case on it and its kind of getting annoying….any suggestions?
Hi guys,  For the last few days I have been having a problem with my iPhone 4 where 3G will stop working. When this happens, it still displays 5 bars and the 3G icon. It’ll stay down for 5+ minutes before it starts working again, and goes down several times an hour.  If I reset the phone during this time, it’ll still display 5 bars but no 3G icon (so the 3G icon won’t disappear to indicate that it is down until you reset).  I’ve tried resetting network settings and also tried  restoring as a new device but neither helps.  Is anyone else having this problem?
im havin problems with my iphone 4′s 3g internet where it loads extremely extrmely slow or doesnt even load at all and this is when i have 5 bars anybbody else have this problem?
I ran down and picked up the new iPhone 4 for my wife to replace her old 3g. I have to admit that next to it my 3GS’s screen looks blocky and coarse. Reminds me of trying to watch a standard tv after getting used to high definiton. Â As for the signal problem we haven’t been able to replicate it. I touched the black lines on the bottom sides and held it there for 60 seconds but still had 5 bars. As a matter of fact the signal seems really great. While traveling outside of town this evening we went down in a valley where I lost service and hers still had 2 bars left and she made a call but mine couldn’t receive it. Â Just wanted to share my experience. It took me 40 minutes to get in and buy the phone. Half the time was waiting for a CSR and the other half was waiting on them to activate it. At 7 this morning there was a line of around 100 people so I just left and dropped back in around 4pm at which time there were only about 10 people ahead of me and many were there for billing questions. Only saw 2 of them buy iPhones. I had really expected them to sell out. Sure made me feel good I didn’t stand it line for several hours for nothing.
I will have to say though that after playing around with it the screen is great but if you have a 3GS it’s not really worth the upgrade. If you have a 3G though run out and upgrade. I did try loading some web pages on wifi and the iPhone 4 was about 20% faster than my 3GS.
I just updated my 3gs to 4.0 on Friday. I’ve noticed that the signal strength decreases when I hold the phone in my left hand. It will eventually get down to 2 bars from 5. When I hold it in my right hand, the signal stays at 5 bars. What does this mean? Do I have a bad unit. LOL, well I can answer my own question, but I”m sure that at&t doesn’t want to hear it.
