I have 5 lines on my account. I needed a new phone asap and wasn’t eligible for an upgrade on my line, just the early upgrade price. I just discovered that one of my other lines is eligible for an iPhone upgrade on Monday. Can I go back to the AT&T store and switch the upgrade over to the fully eligible line and get my $ 200 back? I called 611 but was told that it’s up to the store?
I have an apple store nearby me and I was planning to go there to get my ipod touch 3rd gen 32gb fixed. I think I’m having a problem with my screen and I think I spilled water on it but the water thing isn’t red, it’s still white so I’m thinking my warranty is still good. Did I need to bring anything in besides my ipod touch when I go show them it?

Picture of a red apple lying on a field of green grass. The tasty apple is free to eat.

This delicious fruit fell from a tree on a lovely hill where flowers bloom from spring through summer until the Autumn comes to visit the happy rabbits.

This photo of a red apple represents healthy fertility, freedom and abundance of food.

I am going to eat apple, monica gardenal, how to upgrade mobile phone early

I know you are unable to use the new “free” service with the 3GS only, but know there is a way around this if you use someone else’s ipad, ip4 or touch4.  Has anyone been able to say go to like an apple store or best buy and use one of the demo devices to successfully setup find my iphone?  I can’t justify spending $200-$400 on a fourth gen device for something that is “free”.  I know this is just a small portion of the mobile me, but frankly that’s all I want.  Any comments would be appreciated.  Thanks!

I currently have the iphone4. Husband is currently with verizon and wants a iphone. We would also like to go on a family plan. Am I correct that the apple store would not be able to switch my plan to a family plan and add my husband at the time of purchase?

I’ll try to keep this short…   About 4 months ago I upgraded to the iPhone 3GS 16GB then downloaded the iOS4 when it came out about a week after.  2 months ago, I decided to try to return the phone due to lack of reliable 3G coverage and general iPhone features, to me anyway, are lacking (iPhone in general works like a computer for kids, or a dumbed down version of the Tilt).  I knew I was out of my 30 day return from the store I bought it from, so I took it into an Apple Store.  After about 45 minutes of waiting for someone to talk to (asked several people working and just got the run-around, go see this guy, go see him, etc.) I finally got to talk to someone.  They told me they could not allow me to do a return since I’ve had the iPhone for 2 months, then I asked if they could do a warranty repair on the Home Button (stopped working all of a sudden).  After shining a little light in a few different spots, they told me there was severe water damage and I would not qualify for any in-warranty repair, but they would repair it out-of-warranty for $200.  (Anyone who would pay that for a $10 part and 15 minutes of work either has too much extra money, or is just slow…)  Took it to the store I bought it from to have them look for water damage, and they found none, moisture indecater was white and no corrotion could be found.  So to me it seems they just did not want to help since I told them I’m unhappy with the iPhone.  Repaired the Home Button myself for $8.50 (including S&H).   So now my question, is there any way AT&T would waive the early upgrade fee for me since I am very unhappy with the iPhone and received no help from the Apple Store on any of my problems.  I have been an AT&T customer for 6 years with not a single late payment and currently have 3 phones on my family plan and receive a Corp. discount through my wife’s work so I want to stay with AT&T, but will never own another iPhone.  I want to get the Samsung Captivate with Android, coworker has it and when my iPhone has 1 bar on GMTS he has full 3G.

has anyone lately been able to buy an iphone 4 their an at&t retail store or an apple store?? if so please mention where…. hopefully someone response for a location in fresno ca :smileyvery-happy:

I live in an area where 2G is stronger than 3G (I seem to get 1 more bar when I turn off 3G). However, once I do that I get a weird buzz sound (like there was a static interference). Its the same kind of sound you here from computer speakers when you place a phone near them. But I tested it away from potential interference sources. Once I turned on 3G, the voice was clean and there was no more buzz sound!   I hear those sounds on low when I put the phone to my head. When I  use the speakerphone I hear no static sounds.   I had Blackberry Curve 8310 before with ATT that did calls on 2G only and never had this issue.    I am using phone without case waiting for a free one in the mail, but I don’t hold the bottom and it still does that.    Should I take it to Apple Store and diagnose it? Did you have the same problem?

About 36 days ago, I upgraded my wife from an original iPhone to an iPhone 4 (the other 3 family members have 3Gs’s).  Unfortunately, I wasn’t paying enough attention to her comments about the difficulties she was having with the phone.  She finally got my attention this weekend when she informed me that her old iPhone was a much better phone than the new iPhone 4, and wanted her old one back!  Turns out she have been having the “proximity sensor” issue with her phone so badly it it makes the phone almost unusable.  The phone hangs itself up, makes random calls, and otherwise misbehaves when you try to use it.  The first time I tested it with her, it hung me up and called her Mom!  Anyway, the iPhone 4 is clearly a design failure, and I would like to take it back, and get another iPhone 3Gs.  Since it took me so long to realize how bad the problem was, I have let the 30 day return period expire.   Has anyone had any success returning their iPhone 4 outside the 30 day period?  In his press conferences, Steve Jobs seemed very ready to take back iPhone 4s from dissatisfied customers, has AT&T gotten the message?  If I return it at an Apple store, how will the AT&T contract be affected?   Alternatively, any good work arounds (I did search the forum, and did the hard reset recommended)?

Last summer, I purchased an iPhone 3GS together with a 2-year contract with Swisscom, one of the mobile telephone operators in Switzerland. A few weeks ago, my phone was stolen while I was on a trip. I contacted Swisscom and informed them that the phone had been stolen. They deactivated the old SIM card, and sent me a replacement SIM card. I reported the theft to the police too. My understanding is that the IMEI number of my old iPhone will be added to a blacklist so that it cannot be used on any mobile telephone networks anymore. My father, who lives in Texas, recently upgraded from an iPhone 3GS to an iPhone 4. He extended his original contract with AT&T and simply moved his number over to the new phone. Because he no longer had a need for his old iPhone 3GS, he agreed to send it to me. At my suggestion, he went first to the Apple Store in Austin and requested that they unlock the phone. The folks at the Apple Store informed him that they could not unlock it. They suggested that Apple or the mobile carrier in Switzerland could unlock the phone. My father shipped his old iPhone 3GS to me, and I received it yesterday. This morning, I went to the Apple Store in Zürich and asked if they could unlock the phone so that I could use it with my Swisscom SIM card—the one Swisscom sent me to replace the one in my stolen iPhone. They told me that they could not do this, and that only the original carrier, AT&T could unlock the phone. What is the official solution for unlocking an old iPhone 3GS? I have posted this message to the Apple discussion forums also. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2550533

Hi!   I have an iphone 4 that I bought at BestBuy. Now, like in Puerto Rico we do not have Apple Store yet. Who is responsable for the warranty?  AT&T, BestBuy or I just have to send it via “friends” to Apple in the Continental USA?   I just heard that AT&T is refusing to Service iPhone4s from BestBuy (at least in PR). I this true????
