i ordered my iphone 4, 16 gb about 2:10pm on 8/2

its 1:30 am on 8/7 and its off backorder, of course no ship info yet, but still, less than 5 days for a 16gb, pretty good. now i at least know, i got my own iphone ready to be shipped to me.

now level 2 of the waiting game, “now with less suspense!”

I ordered on the 07/30, my phone are still on Backorder but by Card was charged on the same day, and this is not an authorization, this charged actully went thru.  I was under the impression that they dont charge until phone ships???

" alt="Confirmed: Orders come off of Backorder AND ship on weekends" class="left-thumbnail"/>

While checking to see how much longer it might be before my iPhone comes off of Backorder, I discovered that orders DO SHIP on weekends (even Sundays!) though tracking information may not be available immediately. (This image is not my order and I have removed the tracking and order number for this person’s privacy)   http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/8484/attorder.png   Although some people say that business days are only M – F I am sure that stocking, business shipping and warehouses do operate on the weekends. And I do know that this image does not prove that iPhones come off of backorder on the weekends but I do know for a fact that they do.

Ok so i ordered an iphone 4 16gb on 7/23. Its been on Backorder till now. i need it before august 9th. someone please tell me if i can get it by then? because im going away for vacation

Has anyone gotten their shipping info today, and what time does the shipping information usually get updated on the site? my phone has been off backorder since yesterday but still says processing so im just wondering when it should be shipped?

When I check my order status (ordered through att online), it gives me a checked box for “received,” a checked box for “processing” and an unchecked box for “shipped.”   I am a 7-17er. I realize I’m likely still on backorder (even though I’ve never seen that term on the order status page), but I just wanted to make sure that everybody who is waiting on shipping also sees the same “processing” message. I figure it’s no big deal, but it worries me that they could somehow still be processing my order instead of having me on a list for shipping when they’re available. :p Is anybody else seeing the same thing?

Has anyone else ordered one of these recently?  How long did it take to come off back order?  I placed the order on July 10 and am still back ordered.  Any help would be appreciated.

I posted this at the end of another thread last week – but I think it might be worth reposting here: I spoke to an old college buddy last week. He works as an operational manager at the AT&T Wireless Central Distribution Center – and he said that this whole thing was (obviously) a nightmare and he was in the office for 48 straight hours. He explained the vague terminology of the AT&T status system   . Apparently there is no stock in the CDC right now, but Apple is (and has been) transmitting databases of S/N’s in batches of 35,000 to AT&T. He said Apple is the only hardware vendor that operates this way prior to a launch. They wait until the last possible minute to hand the hardware over to AT&T in order to prevent early leaks. When your status reads “PROCESSING” without the “BACKORDER” flag, it means that your order number has been married to an iPhone S/N, it will be shipped in the first batch, and you will likely receive it on the 24th. If it does have the “BACKORDER” flag, it means that they received the order, and they anticipate enough stock for the 2nd or 3rd wave, but they have not paired your order number to the S/N of a phone (and this is changing day to day as they wade though the system) – so if it says BACKORDER now, it might not next week prior to the fulfillment launch. If you have an ALERT flag (which looks like a red exclamation point) that’s bad. It means that they oversold their anticipated stock (since automation went down several times they were processing some orders by hand in stores) and you might not get your phone until July. The long and short of it seems to be, if it says PROCESSING you’re going to get the phone on launch day. If it has the BACKORDER flag, it MIGHT come on launch day (or the flag might clear between now and the 23rd) and if you have the ALERT, you’re out of luck. He also said there were thousands of duplicate orders – so right now a lot of the confusion comes from matching up the right capacity phone (16 or 32) to the right order. This is apparently being done by hand – so anything can happen to any order.     Just a little food for thought. I’m impatiently waiting for mine 7/13 16gb BACKORDER :smileyindifferent:

Can someone give me an estimate on how long it takes the 32GB iPhone 4 orders to get off of backorder? I was told that the 32GB is a much shorter wait than the 16GB, however, having a broken phone, i have grown very impatient towards waiting for mine.   I ordered on July 15.   Anyone who have ordered a 32GB phone and came off back-order, how long was it for you and how was your experience with it? Thanks.

Does anybody know any new info on what’s going on? Are the backorder getting caught up on or is there still a slowdown on things, I ordered mine July 16th, obviously still on Back order but trying to gauge about how long it would take for it to ship
