It is getting to me that some people, mainly white people, have a problem with my mixed race family. It began just after we got our new Pres. It was no big deal before then.

 

I can conduct myself as a mature person and walk away, which may mean walking out of a restaurant when everyone is hungry and salivating.

 

Today was a different day. The people have struck a nerve. I watched an older white woman around 60 stop in her tracks and glare down at my child with great hatred as we walked by. I was the only one that saw it. I said ‘Yikes’ outloud. But that is not all I did. Leaving the store we saw her again and as we passed by I loudly said ’Barack Obama’. Then we laughed. It felt really good. It may have been wrong, sorry Mr. Pres but I can’t say that I won’t do it again. That is if I know I can defend myself.
