Why is Bluetooth use on the iPhone 4Â being restricted by Apple & AT & T? Why is the lack of availability not explained by their ads or during the sale? The following is what I posted to Apple:
Â
“I just got off the phone with Apple customer support and am furious!! It seems the iPhone 4 I paid for is not able to use Bluetooth with other devices, like my PC. The CSR said the Bluetooth function is only for headsets, which does me absolutely no good.
This restriction was never explained by the sales staff or in Apple or AT&T ads. If this is not fixed, I will never buy an Apple device or use A T & T, will advise my clients, friends and family to do the same, and will complain to computer and consumer trade groups and to our Public Service Commission. If Apple wants to restrict their devices, they should market their own proprietary headsets. Don’t use an open protocol like Bluetooth and restrict it for your own questionable means.
I am also forwarding a copy of this message to A T & T, and will not avail myself of their services if they stand by and allow this to continue.”
Â
I would hope Apple removes these restrictions, as the Bluetooth function is one I expected at purchase.
Â
Buyer beware ! !  Bluetooth on the iPhone 4 is for headsets only, and even then has issues.
