Is there anything being done about the incredibly poor service throughout San Diego?

You would think living in one of the top ten largest cities in the nation would allow for good reception.

I love my iPhone for everything it can do, except for the fact that I cannot use it as a phone. I’ve only had it for a couple months now, but I have almost given up on actually using it to communicate via voice. I use text messaging now. Any time I take a chance and hope I can actually make a call, I am sorely disappointed. I liken it to pulling a slot machine handle. The chances of success are about the same.

So far, I can count on my hands the number of calls that have gone through WITHOUT being dropped. Pretty much 9 times out of ten the call will drop. Having been with Verizon for years I guess I didnt know how good I had it. Now this is not just from one area mind you. It happens at home, at work, on the way back and forth, etc.

Are there any plans to add towers or whatever else needs to happen so that my service actually provides…. I dunno, “service.”

A couple months back I changed the OS on my computer. But when I went to re-install iTunes, obviously, those songs are no longer there. Of course, I still have my songs, playlists, albums, etc. on the iPhone but if I go to synch music, I get a message saying my iPhone is set up on a different computer (its the same computer, just different OS, so its not recognizing). So it says it will erase the iPhone, and replace them with songs on iTunes (comparatively few). Is there a way to put my songs, playlists, and albums back on iTunes directly from the iPhone so I can continue with what I have? Or do I have to start the whole process again of having to manually rip and enter my CDs? Thanks.

so i’ve never had a “3g” phone until i got my iphone a couple months ago, and my wife got her xenon. when i’m talking on my phone (we’ll just focus on voice usage) if its on 3g, say after a 2 hr conversation… this thing really starts cooking my ear. but say the exact same conversation with 3g turned off, it feels like a normal comfortable amount of phone warmth (like my old phones) and same with hers as well…   why is this?why is it hot on 3g, but not on 2g?   i tried looking it up, but just found umpteen pages of people talking about “iphone 3g” which isnt what im looking for :P

i bought an iphone 3gs a couple months ago, with new 2 year contract…   my iphone was dropped and the screen broke, it dropped down a bunch of rocks, when i was hiking, and im sure warranty wont cover it,  can i buy a regular cheap phone and keep my same contract?  and since my iphone had the data plan,  if i get a regular phone, where the data plan would be useless,  would i be able to cancel the data plan, and keep my 450 minute plan/200 txt plan,  but cancel data?   the phone is destroyed. not repairable…   i was thinking too, could i just buy a cheap phone, or  buy a go phone and use my sim in the go phone? Now i’ve had it for a couple months (since december) and my last charger broke so i bought a new one thinking i could easily be able to use my phone .
