I got a quick question. I currently have service with ATT and do not have any data plan. I do currently own a smartphone but had the phone early enough before ATT starts to require any data plan on any smartphones.

Now, I am thinking of buying a iPhone 4 or 3GS (not from ATT or Apple) to use with my current plan. Can I do it? Would I still need to sign up for any data plan? Do I still need to activate my phone?

Would my 3G phone SIM from my smartphone works with 3GS without any issue?

I konw iPhone 4 uses MicroSIM card, can I go to ATT store and would they exchange my SIM to microSIM without any issue and requirement for any additional data plan or service?

I currently have ATT block my data plan and I spoke with them and they are aware that my current plan has such no data provision because I sign up the contract before they sstart requiriung any plan.

Any thoughts guys?

how do i subscibe to a mobile data service on an iphone 3gs, iphone 4 activation requirements

I am about to go on a corporate pager rotation and I currently own an iphone 3GS. I was playing around the settings and saw nothing obvious to setup my phone to receive pager alerts from my company.   My requirements are as follows.   Pager alerts sound need to be customizable (or loud) and function like an alarm clock, basically tries it’s very best to wake you up.   Please advise on how I can accomplish the above goal, and including hearing that this is not possible with the iPhone 3GS or 4.  I am also open to buying an app from the store to meet this requirement, if there is nothing I can do by calling AT&T or through the iPhone settings.

We currently own the iPhone 3G-s that allows for unlimited text. My father read that it was impossible to get unlimited texting on the new iPhone 4, but we heard from someone else that if you’re upgrading from a plan that had unlimited text, it was possible to have unlimited text on the iPhone 4.    Can anyone verify this ? We’re considering upgrading but don’t want to if it’s impossible for unlimited texting to be included

Hello AT+T,   I currently own an i-Phone 3GS, legitimately bought from the Vietnam Apple store.    I’ll be moving for college to Columbus, Ohio in the fall and it seems that it will be possible to use my iPhone with AT&T, but I have 2 questions:   1) What would be the most suitable AT&T plan that would let me use the 3GS network and has favourable intl text/call rates? 2) After moving to the US can I still switch my SIM cards? (i.e. when I go home to visit my family may I take out my US SIM and use my Vietnamese SIM for the duration of my stay?)

Hi,   I currently own an unlocked iPhone 3G 8GB, which I use on O2′s (excellent) UK network.   From August I’m starting a degree course at Yale, so will be in the US for seven to eight months a year, and in the UK for the remainder.    From my reading it doesn’t appear that I’d be able to use my phone on AT&T’s prepay service. If I take out a contract with AT&T would I be able to put this on hold for the months when I’m in the UK, and it’s naturally cheaper to use my O2 SIM card instead?   I’d be very grateful for any help you can offer me. I am keen to use my iPhone legitimately as I value the service Apple and O2 have provided me with – hopefully AT&T are equally good!   Many thanks.

Hi everyone,   I’m a French student that will come to San Francisco in a few days, and I currently own a French Iphone 3G officially unsimlocked. I plan to stay in US between 6 months and 1 year. I want to keep my current Iphone and use it with a prepaid plan, as I cannot take a 1-year commitment. My questions are: – Can I use my French Iphone 3G with a GoPhone Pick your plan / Pay as you go ?  – I plan to take a Pick you plan $39.99, with the 100MB and International long distance Features plans. But I was told that I would have to pay these 2 additional Features plans in top of the $39.99, for a total of $64, which is absolutely not interesting. Is that information correct ?  – If instead I take a Pay as you go, is the 100MB feature plan deducted from the available balance ?   Thanks for your answers !
