I’m about to go on a yearly cabin vacation with my family and wanted to know if there were any suggestions that you could make as far as micro sim to regular sim adapters go, and if there were any compatibility issues with the micro sim being used with the adapter in a different phone (contacts wired differently or whatever).  A little back story. We’ve gone on this trip every year since 2002. In 2007, we needed emergency services for my daughter but couldn’t get cell service. We were lucky to have my sister with me who was a ham radio operator, and had her portable radio with her.  After that event, we considered abandoning the yearly vacation because of the lack of service, since my sister would not be able to come with us every year. But, my sister came through with some equipment that made our lives much easier. She bought this imported phone from the UK which came with a bunch of cable and a huge antenna. We’ve mounted all of that on the side of the cabin, ran the cable inside and are now able to get 3-4 bars on EDGE with that phone.  In the past, though, I’ve been able to pop out my iPhone sim card (2G and 3G), throw it into the imported phone and get service along with internet access just fine. However, with the micro sim card, I’m not sure exactly which adapter is preferred or if there are any compatibility issues with the contacts or between the micro sim itself and the phone. Another less important question is if the internet access will work since we can get EDGE service, which is nice for light browsing and checking email.    Â
