My iPhone 4 under OS 4.1 still has the ring coming through on the speakers eevn though I have the earphones/mic that came with it plugged in.

doe a iphone still ring even though you plugged in earphonesIf I’m listening to music on my iPhone using “regular” earphones (no mic) and a call comes in, do I have to remove my earphones to hear the caller? Or will the caller be heard through the regular earphones?  If the regular earphones work in this situation, does that mean the iPhone’s mic is live and I can hear through the earphones and talk via the phone’s mic?  Thanks, DJRÂ
