Perhaps this issue should be posted on the Apple forums, but I usually get better replies here.

It seems I have to reboot my iPhone 4 a lot to get certain things to work. This includes app and call issues.

For example Yahoo IM. I’ll have an issue with it not going into landscape mode, or it keeps saying the message didn’t send. I reboot the phone and everything starts working again. Another example is my Weather Channel app. It will look like it’s loading but it never does and when I reboot, viola, I get the information. Another issue is with making calls. The other day I called my Mom and when she spoke, the sound was distorted even after trying both her home and cell it was the same sound. I call it alien/under water sounding, but either way, after I rebooted my phone, it was fine. I also will have dropped calls issues and rebooting helps that too. Texting doesn’t seem to be an issue. I use Yahoo IM every day and I know the app was recently updated, but it still has glitches. Like when I open it for the first time and sign in, it closes without me doing anything. When I reopen it, it stays open. I’m sure that’s an app glitch, but the landscape mode and messages not sending issue can be resolved by rebooting. The Weather Channel app. can also be fixed by rebooting.

So I don’t know if these app issues are only app specific and are resolved on their own with rebooting, or if the phone itself is having an issue and rebooting fixes it temporarily. I notice these apps with issues because I use them daily. I also use the Slingbox app a lot and that usually works fine with the exception of it saying another user is connected and then I get booted, but it doesn’t happen often. But rebooting helps this too.

Sorry for the long post, but having to reboot a few times a day is getting annoying. Or is it par for the course with this phone?

Any input is appreciated.

As soon as I ordered my Refurbished White iPhone 3Gs 16GB yesterday, it went on Backorder status. This definitely frustrated me, because the site seemed to be misleading in indicating it was in stock, when obviously it wasn’t?! Anyway, I came here to the forums and found that a lot of people were waiting a very long time on their purchases to come off of Backorder, process, ship, and get to their front door.   Anyway, I did some calling, and found that no one around my area has anything iPhone 3Gs in stock (Black or White), so I decided just to wait it out, and try complaining to AT&T to see if they could cut me some sort of break on my bill for.. well.. misleading me.   I checked back on the status of my order later last night, and lo and behold, my purchase (with the exception of a cancelled case) had been shipped! This caught me by surprise, and sort of made me nervous… the shipping date indicated it was shipped to me the day BEFORE I made the order. I clicked on the tracking number, and USPS varified that earlier in the afternoon, it had been Accepted in Fort Worth, and now.. well, I’m keeping track of that =) (It should be in Kansas City or Springfield, MO sometime today/tonight, and at my local Post Office for processing the day after tomorrow. Or, that’s how many mailing experiences from Mid-Texas have gone for me, at least.)   Anyway, the point of this was to let you all know my experience was confusing, but quick. I’ll let you know how shipping goes, but don’t be skeptical. If you want that phone, but you’re worried about the wait, look around. If no one has it, you might as well place the order and hope that you go through a similar experience.   Now, I get look forward to a limited data usage plan…  not. =P

Just downloaded the new update and everything works great with the exception of when I push my home button twice it no longer goes to my “favorites” screen (the screen with my favorite phone numbers) but rather highlights 4 applications.  In the settings portion of the phone under the general tab I used to be able to program this feature but it is no longer there.  Anybody figured out how to do this yet?

Alright, so I purchased an iPhone 3G back in March 2009, then it got stolen at school on November 2009. I don’t wanna go into details, but I reported it to my school admin, and they haven’t done anything, even when I gave them the serial number. After the 12 month period, I went to an AT&T store and checked if we were eligible. They said we weren’t able to upgrade for 18 months, not 12 months. I’ve been using this terrible Motorola KRZR as my back up phone, and it’s about to die. Then I hear about this exception or exceptional upgrade, not sure which one it is, and the sales rep said it’s expensive, like $75 and I browsed a couple websites saying something about iPhones not eligible for this upgrade. I’m looking to get an iPhone 3G. Now, my questions are:   What is an exception upgrade? How long I have to wait till the exception upgrade if I have 6 more months to go? Where exactly can I get an exception upgrade? (someone mentioned something about a wm? not sure what that is) If I’m trying to get an iPhone 3G, can I get this upgrade?   Thanks in advance.

Quarterly sales are expected to be down for all cell phone makers, with the exception of Samsung Electronics. A Reuter’s poll indicated that the second quarter for handset vendors is down 13.2 percent from the same period last year. …
