I have been a BlackBerry user for several years and get my email (comcast is my provider) by forwarding it direct to my BlackBerry Verizon email address and it comes thru instantly. I would much rather have an i-Phone 4 but does email come thru immediately it is sent like it does with a BlackBerry and if so how do you set it up to do this? Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!

By the way I have an i-Pod Touch using Wi-Fi in my house and it seems to take for ages to receive email after it has already been received by my BlackBerry.

Newb here who is totally enthralled with my new IPhone 4. That being said, I had a ridiculously cheap plan at Sprint at 43.xx month with unlimited data. I’m really worried about going over my 200mb a month limit. Any tips to prevent unintentional data usage? The “phantom data” threads got me paranoid.   I was also wondering how folks on the phantom data thread are finding detailed recording of their data usage? I can only find totals on my phone. They have listings of times, etc. Is this an app or somewhere on my phone and I can’t find it?   How do I verify that my phone is utilizing my home wifi connection? It says “on” under wi-fi networks and my network is checked under “choose a network”…so I’m assuming I’m good? If I’m out and about, will the phone pick up random wifi networks? How would I prevent that?   Hate to be a pain, but I didn’t need to worry about my data usage with Sprint so i’m a little nervous.   TIA,

Hi all, I just got my very first iPhone on the release date and am really confused by the following discrepancy: When I log into my AT&T account, it reports 50.78MB out of 200MB data usage. On my iPhone under Settings/Usage it shows cellular data: 8.9MB sent and 66.9MB received for a total of 75.8MB. If it was past the end of my first (or any) billing cycle I could attribute the discrepancy to forgetting to reset the phone statistics, but that isn’t the case since I haven’t even had the phone for a month. I called AT&T and they cannot explain the difference. My billing cycle runs from the 15th of the month until the 14th of the following month. I bumped my plan to 2GB starting Thursday (7/15) because I was concerned about going over 200MB, but now I’m not so sure. With my IBM discount, the difference will only be around $5/month for an additional 1.8GB, so it kind of makes sense. But if I’m really never going to go over unless I’m on vacation and away from wi-fi for a week or so it seems pointless to even pay the extra $5. I could just bump it up before I travel since AT&T is pretty flexible about such things. But the numbers don’t add up and it’s driving me nuts. Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,  Bonnie

Hi –   Over the past couple of days I noticed that my iPhone 4 is running on EDGE data connection instead of 3G.   (Wi-Fi works as usual.)   I’ve had it since launch day and only now has this started happening.  I’ve gone through the usual troubleshooting processes of turn-on/off the phone, power cycling, re-syncing with iTunes, airplane mode, etc to no avail.   I’m able to get 3G back sporadically, but not for long, usually only a few minutes before it drops back to slow, slow edge.    At first I thought it was some network problems AT&T was having…but other iPhone owners in my office are getting 3G just fine.  Of course they’re using iPhone 3G and/or 3GS.   I don’t know if this is related to the whole recent upload issue as 3G is not showing on my signal display to begin with.   Anyone else experiencing this, or have any idea what might be causing it?  Any thoughts or info you can provide would be appreciated…thanks.

I am currently a cingular user, and I just want to use surf the web when I have wi-fi, since my school has wifi covered everywhere. I do not want to get a touch because I have enough things in my pocket already. Also, I am part of a family plan so I do not [...]

Unlocked Iphone with t-mobile service. What is the cheapest internet plan out there that i can register to? I hear you can lie what phone you have to tmobile and get a cheap internet service. Is this true? I HATE HAVING TO USE WI-FI for my iphone.

Is it possible for me to get a HTC Diamond for Verizon without a data plan? Or is it possible for me to have pay-as-you-go data, and simply just use wi-fi if i need to use the internet? I dont know if Veirzon allows you to do that does the htc diamond require a data [...]

For instance, iPhone OS 3.0 Wi-Fi problems were so widely reported by iPod touch-using readers that they didn’t seem isolated, and we’ve had the same issues ourselves—clearly not hardware problems because Wi-Fi worked perfectly on the …

Although still in a rumour stage, it is safe to assume that should the iPhone reach the market, the lack of Wi-Fi connectivity will be detrimental to say the least. There’s no official news from Apple as per usual other than stating …

cell phone reviews … 800 x 345 pixel temprered glass display (!!!), HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, multitouch, and an Adobe Flash based UI that is apparently quite snappy and responsive. The only question is whether this is all true, or just some fanboy-cooked up fantasy. But given how much the video shows, it looks like LG ‘ll have to make some sort of statement in the very near future. And its also very doubtful that the phone is THAT snappy, responsive, and sleek in real life. …
