SO, heard a rumor from a customer that called me…that best buy was giving out free 8gb 3gs IPHONES, today for upgrades and new lines…guess who just walked out of best buy with 2 free iphones….awesome.

I have been the recipient of handy downs from my partner. I rec’d her first generation iphone when she went up to a 3g. My first contract had unlimited data. When my partner went purchased her iphone4(most recent iphone), I rec’d her 3g. when i went in to At&t to swap my phones they would not allow me to keep my contract and took the unlimited data off and wanted to charge me for it to go back onto my contract. When my partner purchased her iphones her original contract was always grandfathered in and she still maintains and unlimited data option. Can you explain why my contract was altered? I have never purchased an iphone and tried to buy my first one and was told it had to be purchased at the $400 rate and not a discounted $200 rate. I am confused with these contracts and am a bit turned off to having the unlimited data line taken out of my original contract.
