I’ll try to keep this short…

About 4 months ago I upgraded to the iPhone 3GS 16GB then downloaded the iOS4 when it came out about a week after. 2 months ago, I decided to try to return the phone due to lack of reliable 3G coverage and general iPhone features, to me anyway, are lacking (iPhone in general works like a computer for kids, or a dumbed down version of the Tilt). I knew I was out of my 30 day return from the store I bought it from, so I took it into an Apple Store. After about 45 minutes of waiting for someone to talk to (asked several people working and just got the run-around, go see this guy, go see him, etc.) I finally got to talk to someone. They told me they could not allow me to do a return since I’ve had the iPhone for 2 months, then I asked if they could do a warranty repair on the Home Button (stopped working all of a sudden). After shining a little light in a few different spots, they told me there was severe water damage and I would not qualify for any in-warranty repair, but they would repair it out-of-warranty for $200. (Anyone who would pay that for a $10 part and 15 minutes of work either has too much extra money, or is just slow…) Took it to the store I bought it from to have them look for water damage, and they found none, moisture indecater was white and no corrotion could be found. So to me it seems they just did not want to help since I told them I’m unhappy with the iPhone. Repaired the Home Button myself for $8.50 (including S&H).

So now my question, is there any way AT&T would waive the early upgrade fee for me since I am very unhappy with the iPhone and received no help from the Apple Store on any of my problems. I have been an AT&T customer for 6 years with not a single late payment and currently have 3 phones on my family plan and receive a Corp. discount through my wife’s work so I want to stay with AT&T, but will never own another iPhone. I want to get the Samsung Captivate with Android, coworker has it and when my iPhone has 1 bar on GMTS he has full 3G.
