Ive had this phone for 2 days now and im planning on returning it today. I have many issues with it and am hoping they dont give me the restocking fee for the phones. Its also stated online they are suppose to wave it but from the att store i bought it from told me if i return it theyll charge me. So now what should i do?

Also i found this too, should i print and show it to them just incase?

The announcement comes after Apple said Friday that it will provide iPhone 4 buyers with a free bumper or case to alleviate reception issues. If users are still not happy with their smartphones, they can return the device for a “full refund” and no re-stocking fee – also within 30 days, Apple chief executive Steve Jobs said at a press conference.

When asked if that applied to users who wanted to get out of their AT&T contracts, Jobs said, “I believe so.” That is true if you are within your 30-day trial period, but those who want to return their iPhone 4 after that time period are still beholden to the contract and the re-stocking fee. Basically, the same rules apply – no special rules regarding contracts will apply to this iPhone 4 refund policy.

“Our normal, 30-day return policy applies,” the AT&T spokesman said.

“We support [Apple's] decision to provide free cases to folks and to waive the usual re-stocking fee,” he continued. “We’re going to do the same.”

AT&T and Apple said they will have more information on free cases and how the distribution will work at a later date, he said.

finally arrived this morning..  ordered two 32g on the 18th from the ATT store.  Ft. Worth to San Antonio shouldn’t take long ;)   With 2 day shipping, should be here by Wednesday at the latest.  10 days from order to arrival.

My daughter’s iphone is cracked. Can I just buy a refurbished iphone from ATT.com and they’ll transfer her number to that? I know I have to re-sign a new contract, and I don’t care about that. I just want the same model (3gs) instead of upgrading to a iphone4. If this IS possible, do I just buy the refurb phone straight from the att website, then call att to transfer her phone # to this newly purchased refurb phone? So basically I want to “upgrade” to a refurbished phone, but no refurbs show up when I go through the ‘upgrade’ process. Or is that possible?

just got back from the att store. tried to order the speck candyshell and was told it was on backorder for a month.  Tried to order the incipio silicrylic, also back ordered for a month, however incipios websites shows it available.  Any reviews on the silicrylic? i did try one on my phone, they had a white one.  It seemed like a nice case.  The att guy also told me they should get the cases in the store faster than a backorder, so i might try calling everyday for a week and see if they get the speck case..

I upgraded to an iPhone on Monday June 7th, as my BB was ready for an upgrade. Paid full price for a 3Gs, got home and saw the Steve Jobs announcement on the 4G. Getting different stories from the ATT store and from phone based customer support.  Phone based says, bring your phone back now and get the store to re-up the BB so that you don’t run the risk of scratching it… I go to the ATT store, they tell me that there are no worries, I can bring it back and exchange on the 24th for the new 4G. But—there is a 10% restocking charge.  This is ridiculous.  First off- if the salesperson knew about the 4G launch and didn’t mention it, then that was disingenuous. If they didn’t, then that is a major communications problem. I have 4 family members on wireless, 3 of them on Internet plans as well and AT&T is playing around with restocking fees? I’m very dissatisfied at the moment as it seems like no one at ATT has a clue as to what is going on, there are no managers available on the phone or at the store site. If ATT is truly concerned with customer service then they need to get a good policy in place and do it now.  I’ve wasted hours visiting the store and on the phone with this.  I’m getting tired of it.

Hello everyone,   I bought a Iphone 3GS on 18 May 2010 from the ATT store not knowing that the new Iphone 4 was going to be released.  I know, I have a thirty day return period that will expire on 17 Jun 2010, my question is, will I be able to reserve the Iphone 4 on 15 Jun 2010 and return/exchange my current 3Gs and keep the unlimited data plan tha I currently have?  Or should I return the 3GS prior to the 30 day window and just wait for the new iphone 4 with the limited data plan?  Thanks
