Just set up a family plan and both my wife and I have iphones(3G and 3GS respectively).  I was going to add a 3rd line for a family member after he picks up his iphone 4 this week.  However, he was told at an AT&T store that there is a limit of 2 iphones on any family plan.  I had never heard this and am unable to confirm it anywhere.  It also doesn’t make much sense as far as I can tell.  Can anybody shed light on this?  Thanks.

limit of number of iphones in a family plan

I am moving to Australia in a few months (permanently). Obviously, I will be using an Australian wireless carrier (doesn’t make much sense to have Aussie friends/business to pay to call a US number or pay 1.29/min for roaming, does it?).   Do I have to buy a new iPhone from the carrier? I thought by law a US carrier has to unlock a phone for use in a different country under these circumstances. It hardly seems fair to have to pay for another iPhone and another contract. (I am out of my AT&T contract.)
