I am getting a new iphone 4 for myself. My wife and i both have iphone 3g. Her battery seems to be bad,can i take her sim and put into my iphone 3g so she can use it? I am just going to make her old iphone a spare ipod or something. Do i need to have att do anything or can i just switch and go?

can I swap iphones with my wife, how to swap iphones

If I give my old iphone 3g to my son who has an out of contract line on family plan that is now month to month, will he have to have a two year contract to activate? Or if I give it to my daughter who is also on family plan but has a few months left on her contract, would she have to start a new two year contract?   In other words, does activation on an existing line always require a new contract–even if the phone itself is out of contract?

I don’t know if this question belongs here or not but….I opened a new account in November of 09 and purchased an iphone and had the old iphone plan…I then was given a blackberry and had switched my plan to unlimited data and messaging along with the blackberry internet service…I want to go back to my iphone and was wondering if I would still have my old iphone plan back or would I have to get the new smartphone data package? I don’t know if this makes any sense…

so i gave my iphone 3GS to my cousin and am currently still tied to the contract. i didnt terminate my contract because im waiting to “upgrade” to the new one. but for the time being – would it be ok if i put my old iphone sim card in a cheap razr phone and use it (till i get the new iphone)? also will my cousin be able to hook up his phone (which is my old one) as a new att customer? any advice would be appreciated.

I have a 3GS and my old original iphone is collecting dust.  My GF is already a ATT subscriber.  I just went into an ATT store, and was told that I can just put her sim card in my old iphone, go through the activation, and everything would be fine.   The question he didn’t really answer was: Will she be able to upgrade to a new phone (4th Gen Iphone) and get the contract extension discount?    Also I keep reading that you need to put a new sim card in the old iphone for it to work, this true? the guy at the store told me her current sim card will work (she has a 3G phone).   Thanks!
