My brother got a new phone so plan was to use his old original iphone until i can upgrade to an iphone 4, but after restoring the phone and going through the activation process, I got the message that my activation requires additional time and i would receive an email with furter instructions. Its been 15+ hours and still no email or activation. Did i do something wrong or is the activation process just that slow?

my original iPhone is acting up badly.  I want to hold out to get the new 4G if it should happen in June.  My Mom has an old original iPhone she’s not using (she upgraded to 3GS).  Can I put my sim card in her old iPhone and use it without using up the qualified upgrade?  I don’t want to waste my upgrade on another original iPhone.  Any advise is greatly appreciated!

I have a 3GS and my old original iphone is collecting dust.  My GF is already a ATT subscriber.  I just went into an ATT store, and was told that I can just put her sim card in my old iphone, go through the activation, and everything would be fine.   The question he didn’t really answer was: Will she be able to upgrade to a new phone (4th Gen Iphone) and get the contract extension discount?    Also I keep reading that you need to put a new sim card in the old iphone for it to work, this true? the guy at the store told me her current sim card will work (she has a 3G phone).   Thanks!
