Ok… Got an I phone 4 a few weeks ago. My data usage had averaged about 100mb a month on my 3g. I gave my wife the 3g after upgrading the phone to 4.0 (big mistake)… set her hotmail up using smtp, no push, manual receive only. She hit 180mb of usage in 1.5 weeks just checking her email a few times a day. There seems to be 4 to 5 mb of data going over the air every time she checks her mail. My account seems fine using gmail and their exchange server. Does anyone know what is going on? Is it an smtp issue? Should i downgrade the phone back to 3.x? I called AT&T and all they were no help at all.
Anybody else having this problem? I’ve spent a total of 3 hours over the last couple of days with ATT trying to get it to work. I can access now by holding down the “1″ key which I couldn’t before, but my visual voicemail can and will not connect to my voicemail box. Below are a list of things that we have tried. If you know of anything else that I could try let me know, because at this point ATT is suggesting to replace the phone.  1. Reset Vmail Password – 4x 2. reset Network settings – 2x 3. rest all settings – 2x 4. restored phone to new - 2x 5. made sure the correct vmail number was programed into the phone (ie.. *5005*86*then the number#) – 3x 6. over the air updates to try and fix the problem. 7 removed all data services and reapplied them to see if there was a provisioning issue.  Through all this it still doesn’t work, keep getting the same message: “Voicemail Unavailable, unable to connect. Try again later”
