No longer able to use iPhone data?

Hello all.  I upgraded from the iPhone 3G to the Samsung Captivate.  I kept the unlimited data plan and the iPhone as a backup phone and to use as an iPod Touch.  Recently I tried putting the SIM card back into the phone because I wanted to use a radio app on 3G that’s not on Android at work (where WiFi is limited).

 

The iPhone could recognize the SIM and I could use it to make calls, but I cannot access data over Edge or 3G.  I get a message saying I’m not subscribed.  So….am I S.O.L. when it comes it iPhone data?

So hey there guys I am new ATT customer since 9/16/2010. Since about 2 weeks I have been having problems with reception first I realized it was in my house and now its about 5-6 blocks away as weel!   I live in New York so basically today It was a great way for me to make sure this is just not my house , if there is anyone from New York so I visited other parts of Queens and then when I was getting back home I was trying to text someone which is like 5-6 or maybe even 7 blocks away from my House and I had full bars and was not able to send that text or even make a call.   In my house I either get 1 bar or “Searching…” with 1 bar I can never make a call or anything.   So I called ATT and the service rep told me to go to Apple and get a replacment phone is that guy serious? it works perfectly fine in other areas and I will go to apple and get new phone because the guy wont admit that there is problem with my area ?   Someone who can point in anyone direction on how to solve this please someone help =) I like att services overall I am not complaining but I just want to get this resolved. THank you!

Well I fell for it.  I checked this site about a week ago and saw all the people waiting on backorder.  But I needed to talk to AT&T before I could order my nw phone because I didn’t want to lose my existing unlimited data plan.  (Turns out if you have 2 phones, 1 which is an iphone and 1 which isn’t an iphone, make sure you put the iphone upgrade into your cart first, otherwise the data plans will default to only new plans if you start with a phone that doesn’t have a data plan today.)   I finally reached someone today to get help with the data plans, and the guy tells me that AT&T is almost caught up on their backorders and my phones should ship within 2 days.  Gullible me, I fall for it and order the phone online.    I’ll begin the list for this weeks orders to see where they really are with backorders – Premiere 1 16GB Black 1 32GB Black Phoenix AZ metro area

Hello If I bought a iphone from AT&T online, can I return the phone to Apple instead of AT&T?.  If anybody is wondering, im returning the phone because of the antenna issue and it seems Apple is going to ignore it. Thanks

If my car has a tendency to steer towards the right will Ford say, “Use the steering wheel a little bit towards the left or pay for maintenance” to solve the problem?   I’m so angry right now about their response I don’t know what to think. I’m seriously tempted to return my phone because of this. I mean I have a case already and I notice that it’s not that important anymore… but … why Apple? Why would you do this?

Well my parents got me a phone for my birthday on may 8 and it was a FREE refurbished samsung mythic and I didn’t like it at all It had to much problems. Then we went to the At&t store on May 12 and PURCHASED a brand new white iPhone 3gs. Well now I am discovering there is a iPhone 4 coming out and we paid $457.84 total for my iPhone and the policy says you are only allowed to exchange once. Can I still exchange my phone because I actually paid for this one and that is not fair at all I paid that money so I should be able to get the iPhone 4 which will be the same price! Would there be an exception? :’(

30 Day Return Policy and Pre-ordering iPhone

I suppose that I am not the only person who has ever returned a phone because of a newer one was released. I will be within my 30 day until the 7th of July. I am not exactly sure about how to go about pre-ordering the iPhone 4. Do I just pre-order via the web like everyone else on the 15th of June, show up at my Apple Store with the old one pay any price difference in price, and walk out with an iPhone 4? Should I just go to the nearest AT&T corporate location on the 24th of June, pay the difference, and get the new phone? Or is there some other process that I have not thought of that would be appropriate? How do you say I should proceed with pre-ordering?

Return refurbished Iphone 3GS

Hi, I purchased a refurbished iphone 3GS for the AT&T web site. I has been less than two weeks since I made the purchase and I would like to return the phone because I think it has a bad battery. It seems to get used up mighty fast. I have no idea how long it was used before it got refurbished and if the battery was replaced at that time. Do I have to send it back to AT&T or can I go to an AT&T store for the return. Heck for $50 bucks more I could have gotten a brand new ubit. This one is not performing up to what I would have figured an Iphone would be. Thanks for your responses.

Wifi not working

Hi, I just bought my refurbished iPhone 3G white 16B a week ago. My wifi was working until all of a sudden it won’t detect anymore wifi networks for whatever reason. i tried reseting network connection, restoring it, erasing all data, pretty much everything.   my screen has a few little scratches on it because it got scratched, i scheduled an appointment at the apple store and im hoping they replace my phone because it seems to be a defective hardware problem.   do you think they will replace my phone even though i have a couple scratches on it? thanks
