I know you are unable to use the new “free” service with the 3GS only, but know there is a way around this if you use someone else’s ipad, ip4 or touch4. Has anyone been able to say go to like an apple store or best buy and use one of the demo devices to successfully setup find my iphone? I can’t justify spending $200-$400 on a fourth gen device for something that is “free”. I know this is just a small portion of the mobile me, but frankly that’s all I want. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!

Received my Otterbox Case the other day. Does anyone know if there is a charging station? that will accommodate the Otterbox? This would be so it is in the upright position while charging or when connected to my PC to connect with itunes. Also, sometimes it is a little hard or very hard to get the phone out of the holster. I am doing something wrong or is this a problem that someone else has?  Â
I ordered a 16gb on 7/11 instore. I got off backorder yesterday and went to the AT&T store to ask about my iPhone. The rep. let me know that my iPhone just got shipped and I should be getting it tomorrow (today) and that they’ll give me a phone call. So I checked my order status/tracking info today and it says: Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 07/26/2010. Â Is this accurate? The reason I’m worrying is because I’m traveling up north tomorrow to visit my mom and I’ll be there for about a few weeks. I heard that AT&T has a 7 day instore pick up policy before they give your phone to someone else who is on the waiting list. So, any expierence with UPS’ scheduled delivery date?
We currently own the iPhone 3G-s that allows for unlimited text. My father read that it was impossible to get unlimited texting on the new iPhone 4, but we heard from someone else that if you’re upgrading from a plan that had unlimited text, it was possible to have unlimited text on the iPhone 4.  Can anyone verify this ? We’re considering upgrading but don’t want to if it’s impossible for unlimited texting to be includedÂ

hello, i have an htc tilt 2 that im trading for a iphone 3g, and im just wondering when i get the iphone, since it was used by someone else, do i have to do anything to it for use on my account?
Wanted to get clarification from those who have upgraded previously from old to new iPhones.  When I get my new iPhone, my confirmation email says to activate the phone on an AT&T website. I assume I’d then need to setup the phone in iTunes, and restore from the last back up of my 3GS.  BUT, if I activate with AT&T + on iTunes, what will happen to my old phone? Can I still use to it erase the settings before giving it to someone else? Is there any difference between clicking on the “Erase All Content and Settings” on the old phone vs. doing a “Restore” on iTunes? Is it possible to do the “Restore” on iTunes after I’ve setup my new phone?  Â
I ordered my phone from an AT&T store at 3:25 pm Est on 6/15, have a receipt, and see that it is in process/progress on the website. Should there be any difference between getting an iPhone on launch day if ordered for in store pickup versus delivery? I assume it is just as reserved as if I had preordered it and shipped it to my house? So if I don’t line up at Att store at 4 am, they ideally won’t sell it to someone else, right? Anyone have previous experience getting the iPhone from ATT store at launch?

Ok. I have been looking on some websites and I have asked some questions on some other websites and I have heard that the contract that AT&T has with Apple will expire soon and Apple won’t sell anymore iPhone’s or any new iPhone’s to AT&T once that contract is up … I would like to know, if someone else knows, if AT&T is going to renew this contract so that Apple will continue to sell iPhone’s to AT&T …  I also heard that Verizon was offered an iPhone contract from Apple for them to sell their iPhone’s on the Verizon network starting either the ending of this year or sometime next year… Is this true too ???  Someone answer please ! Hi I m new in america and as everyone likes iphone i bought an iphone 3gs over ebay and i was using it as ipod touch.i cant use it as iphone 1. I dont have a credit history so noone gives me a contract. 2. i cant afford 70$ right now. Â because of the firmware upgrade. my cell phone is not activated anymore..i dont have the original sim from the original buyer or whatever i didnt even knew i needed to have a sim to use it as an ipod. The other person from whom i bought say he dont have a sim either he lost it .. Â My only question which is very simple.( and i read all the forums abt it. and got contradicting info) Â Â How can i use my iphone 3gs 32gb new firmware to activate and use it as an ipod touch. I dont have an att sim, i dont think i can get one coz i dont havee credit history. Â Can i use att sim from someone else to just activate it? atleast i can use it as an ipod. and i was using it tht way till i upgraded. please someone with real knowledge or probably att employee help me out.. i also heard i can just go to att and they ll activate it for free even if i dont wanna buy att plan? is this true? please guide me. just wanna use it as an ipod
