My BF just bought the Iphone 3GS for himself, the first one was a refurb that had to be taken back & he bought a new one tonight. Now we have the thing home and there is NO SOUND coming out of it at all. No ringtone, you can’t hear if someone is talking to you on it, they can’t hear you, songs don’t play.  We found the silent switch on the left side and switched it back to on, went through the settings and turned everything on, did a reset, a sync & nothing works.

I’m not an iphone user, but it still shouldn’t be this hard to turn the sound on a phone. 

Does anyone know what the problem is with it?  I mean, did he seriously get 2 crap phones in a row?
