IPhone 4 ,, factory unlocked from at&t

Hello ,,

 

Simply, i bought an at&t IPhone 4 from ebay and the seller told that the IPhone is officially unlocked.

 

any way i didn’t receive the phone yet.

 

but actually I didn’t believe him because you know it is impossible except the jailbreak and the unlock method.

 

He said:

Yes I bought it from AT&T but i made sure that they did not activate it, ensuring it
is unlocked and not set to one mobile carrier. 

 

Finally, what do you think ?

Help Selling My 3G

Currently I have a 3G that I purchased in November and the price of the new iPhone for me is $399.  If I got the new one I would then sell my 3G.  In order to sell it what should I do?  I’m guessing I have to transfer the sim card (first time on gsm).  Do I need to unlock it if someone wants to use it on AT&T or another network?  Is the best way to get rid of all the data by resetting the phone via iTunes?  I have already jailbroken it, will resetting the phone get rid of the jailbreak?  Thanks for your help.

iPhone 3G Data/MMS Problems

This is the second iphone I have purchased on the street and i’ve been having problems with both. Its an iphone 3G, software 3.1.2 and I was able to send MMS and now all of a sudden I cant. and it says It cannot activate cellular data network. When i got it i activated it with my sim card through itunes and jailbroke it. and like i said after the jailbreak the MMS worked fine. I tried adding the iphone data plan through the website and it does not allow me to. I’ve asked several employees at ATT locations and they all say you have to activate it through itunes. which i have already done. so what do i do?
