Ever since updating to the 4.2.1 release I no longer seem to be able to set 3G to off and have it stay turned off.  At some point it seems to keep defaulting back to on.

Also while roaming abroad and manually selecting the network that I want the phone to stay registered on the iPhone keeps changing back to automatic network selection at random.  These bugs are not deal breakers but they are annoying.

manual network selection iphone 4 2 1, iphone4 network selection, iphone4 automatic network selection, iphone4 3goff, iphone keeps switching from MicroCell

Hey everyone I just updated my iPhone 3GS to iOS4.2 and was really excited about AirPrint now I’m not so sure. I can’t seem to get it to work. I have my phone on the network and my HP PhotoSmart Plus B209m-a hooked up to the network wirelessly and it is shared. But when I try to print something off my iPhone it can’t find any printers. None of my other computers are having any problems with this. Anyone have any ideas for me?

Since this morning, the network reception on my iPhone 4 has been flunctuating between Searching, No Service, and one bar. I can rarely make calls, most incoming calls don’t go through, and texts come in a long time after they were sent..sometimes hours.   I have had excellent reception until today..and I haven’t changed anything on the phone. I’m in the same location I’ve always been in.   I bought the phone from AT&T…do I need to take it back to the store or should I go to an Apple store? I live in NYC.

I have an Ipad 3GS + Wifi bought in Canada and that I’m using on the 3G network here in Canada. Now I wanted to go in the US where my boat is and use my iPad on AT&T 3G network. So I when on July 26th in Plattsburg at the AT&T store and they gave me the Micro SIM card free. I asked the guy witch was not helpfull what do I need to activate my subscription. He told me I have to reset my network settings and I will be able to connect to the AT&T network then activate the subscription with a credit card.   I did reset the network settings in General – Reset – Reset Network Settings I got NO SERVICE. But my iPhone is having 4 bars and 3G network from AT&T.   What should I do to get my iPad working in USA with AT&T?   Thanks

I am interested in learning more about how the interaction between my i-Phone and voice mail on the network actually works.   Is there anybody out there that understands the dynamic and how/where the controls reside that define and make that process work the way it does?   Thanks in advance.

I’m showing my ignorance, but I’ve not used wifi on my iPhone…just 3g, and I have unlimited data plan. I have purchased a 3gs for my wife and hope to use minimum cellular data. Therefore, I have tried to connect with wifi, starting with my home network. However, I don’t know what password it’s asking for. It’s been a while since I set up the network, and I don’t recall the password. Is it asking for network password or router password? Is there somewhere in WIN 7 I can find it? Every password I enter is incorrect :-( Tonight we were at a friend’s house and she told me her password, but it didn’t work either! Am I missing something incredibly simple, or am I just “up the creek”??

Now that the unlimited data is gone for new users, I wonder which of the two data plans would “automatically” get added when AT&T detects an Iphone on the network with no data plan? I bet they add the 2GB plan.

So i was running a few tests on the network speed on my iphone and noticed while I’m getting reasonable speeds, I’m getting very high Latency which makes browsing, VOIP and other apps take longer to respond to any data requests.   Currently running IOS4 on iphone 3GS   APP USED to test Speed FCC Speed Test

When the iphone OS 4.0 upgrade is available how do you suppose it will be released? Will you go to i-tunes to download it or will it be automatic via the network?

All,   I have seen the network communication traffic numbers of those that use an iPhone to tether their laptops.  The data flow is no different than the iPhone itself.  Even at a 95% Confidence level, there is not bandwidth issue for AT&T.  When will AT&T stop dodging the issue and allow cellphone tethering?   Does anyone one want to form a survey of customer interest in this topic?     I am not from AT&T corporate.  Just a customer.   My three survey questions: A) How likely is your neighbor to pay $5 more a month for Cell phone tethering? B) Do you see Cell phone tethering as a good idea or bad idea? C) What kind of cell phone do you have?
