I own an iPhone 4, and had an upgrade date of: 6/2011, which is one year after the date I purchased the iPhone 4. I just now notice that the upgrade date is no longer there, and it now shows: I can buy an iPhone at a higher upgrade price with a two year commitment. I did not change anything in my plan. I’m wondering if that means AT&T will no longer have the exclusivity of the iPhone in 2011? Or did they decide to no longer allow one year upgrades for people who’s phone bill is over ninety nine  dollars? Is there anyone that has a iPhone 4 notice a change in their upgrade info?

Hi,   I was planning on upgrading to an Iphone 4 when I am eligible for a full upgrade discount.  I checked a few weeks ago and it said I’d be eligible for a full upgrade in a month, I checked back today and the full upgrade date is gone, and a full upgrade isn’t even mentioned.  I went in to upgrades and I’m not getting the full upgrade discount yet.  Any idea why this would happen?  I haven’t changed my plan or anything, figured I’d try posting here before trying At&It’s customer service.   Thank you.

So, it seems that people who have an upgrade date anywhere in 2010 are eligible for the regular upgrade price.  However, those of us who have had their 3GS’s for a year and are eligible in Jan or Feb pay $400 more?  How can that be?     If people who have had their contracts a couple of months earlier get $400 off the no-commitment pricing then we should at least be eligible for the early upgrade price ($200 off).  Does that not make sense?

I know that iPhone users with upgrade dates in 2010 can supposedly upgrade to the iPhone 4 immediately. In my case, I’m not using an iPhone, but my upgrade date in 2010.   If I get an old iPhone 3G/S and register it with AT&T, will I become eligible for the iPhone 4 upgrade?

I seen this on the apple forum and figured to post it here being I have the same issue.   She wrote: “I spent some time on the phone with customer service at ATT tonight. they decided to randomly change my upgrade date from May 5 to Oct 5, for no apparent reason.”   So today was the pre-order release day and they not only screwed around with the upgrade dates, but also trying to excessivley charge there customers. Price Gouging on the day of release.   I have my 3GS since june last year, and they want to charge me $699.  I have a friend who bought it same year and got it for $499.   What seems to be the problem?

I got my 3gs on 1st day it launched and could swear when I checked upgrade 1 month ago I was able.  Now today when I went to preorder I am only available to get the 399/499 price.  I also remember hearing something about plans with multiple I phones.  I currently have a plan with 2 iphones and 2 other phones.  Are any 3gs phones able to upgrade for 199/299 or are we all screwed.  If so I hope Verizon has the Iphone by my upgrade date of Feb/2011.   Thanks

Hi, i’m a current AT&T customer with an upgrade eligibility date in December of 2010. Unfortunately as i’m a dumbphone user at the moment I’m only eligible for the early upgrade (399$/499$ pricepoint for the iphone 4) and not the upgrade pricepoint of 199$/299$. However, since my brother (on a different account) has an iphone at the moment, I was wondering if this follow plan would work. Could I borrow his iphone, put my sim card in it, and activate it with a data plan on my computer. Then after activating it, I would be a current iphone user with a upgrade eligibility date in 2010 so as a result get my upgrade date bumped up for the iphone 4 release. Also, would there be any data loss (missing apps, contacts, etc.) from activating his iphone on my computer, then giving it back to him after since it’s his phone and hes only letting me borrow it for a day or two for the pre order.

The AT&T website is taking me in circles.  Does anyone know how to find out my upgrade date?
