My friend has an unlimited iPhone data plan on his ATT family plan and has 8 months of his 2 years left. He already switched to verizon for some reason and his plan is still going and he doesn’t want to cancel it. I’m part of my own family plan (I’m on an iPhone 4. Shh, don’t tell AT&T) with data BLOCKED so I don’t accidentally get charged $250 for usage (again), unlimited messaging and the family minutes. If I wanted to take over his unlimited data, what’s the best way to do that and would I be able to just add the $30 onto my account, keep my messaging and whatnot? I want the iPhone unlimited, not the 2gb+tethering or anything like that. Sorry if this is confusing, I’m willing to clear anything up.
Thanks in advance
Hello guys, I’m new to the forum and i signed up just to ask this question. Â Here’s the deal, I currently have a iphone 3gs and i would like to get the iphone 4. Â I currently am not eligible for the $199/299 price. Â I am also on a family plan where my parents and sisters are all eligible for upgrade. Â I heard that i can use their upgrade, and then activate it on my line. Â One problem and conflict that i have is that NONE of my other lines have a DATA plan. Â So when i go to order the iphone 4 under their line, it asks for me to pick a data plan. Â So here’s where im stuck and confused. Â If im activating on my line, and using my sister’s upgrade but she needs to sign up for data plan in order to order the iphone 4. Â So how can i go about getting the iphone 4 for me without having my sister pay for a data plan? Â My sisters don’t need a data plan nor do they want one, they just use the phone for texting really and nothing more. Â I really don’t get how this “using someone’s upgrade work…please help me. Â Im under the impressing you can use someone’s upgrade to get the phone for the 199 price, but will it still work if that individual who’s using the upgrade doesn’t have a data plan.. Â BASically what im getting is that i want the iphone at the 199 price that my other family members are able to, but the problem is that in order to order the phone, it asks me to pick a data plan…so..how does this work? can someone walk me through it? Â
I pre ordered the iphone 4 on the 15th on a new line on my account to make it 3 lines total.  I was originally told, i can keep the unlimited data on my 2 existing lines, and since i am a continuing customer they can do the same for the 3rd line.  Now it sounds like that was bs. I asked around, and im told its technically a “new line” so falls into the new data plans. I have the name, date, and time i spoke with the agent who told me i could have unlimited on the new phone.  My question is, how do i get unlimited data on the new line?  ok, say they will not do as promised. I dont want to cancel that line, i do want to keep the phone. Can that line withing the first month be converted to a normal phone plan for the att samsung flip phone i have? Or will i have to use that line with the iphone that was ordered for it?  My thoughts are that if they wont do what the agent said, i would swap sim cards. Put my current number into the new iphone so i can have unlimited data, then take that new line that was originally for the iphone 4, and change it to a normal line for a regular phone, and still fulfill the service aggreement.  Any ideas, helpful comments.  Im only concerned because i want the iphone, dont want an ETF, and i use on average 3-4gb per month data. I dont have wifi where i live, so i have no choice.   Please help me out. Little discouraged i was told in accurate info. I was told existing customers can have unlimited date, not that it was existing individual lines..  Also i understand the sim is now smaller, i have an adapter.  Â
Does anyone know if 3gs accessories will work with the new iphone. I’ve tried other places to get a definitive answer and know one knows for sure. There seems to be a question as to whether the docking ports are the same. I want the iphone 4 but won’t get it if I have to replace a lot of costly accessories.Â
