I have an strange iphone that I am happy with. However, I wish to ascent to iphone 4 and give it to my crony as a present. Is it probable to upgrade online, get it shipped and when I embrace it, never turn on it? Just keep regulating my aged iphone.

I went through similar posts on this forum and there seems to be 2 opinions people have: 1. i can do it and ATT wont do anything as prolonged as i pointer an additional 2 year contract; 2. if i dont  activate latest iphone 4 inside of thirty days, ATT will assign me full cost of iphone 4

 

Did any one try this? I dont thoughts an additional 2 year stipulate though patently dont wish to get billed an additional 400 after I give the phone to my friend.
